Topic
1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, like postpartum depression, during the first year postpartum. In fact, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are the most common complication of pregnancy, affecting nearly 20 percent of people during pregnancy and the postpartum year, however, it continues to be the most under-screened and under-diagnosed problem women and pregnant/postpartum people experience. This presentation will focus on the evidence based screening tools, counseling and support methods related to perinatal mental health and how to incorporate perinatal mental health support into your care for pregnant and postpartum families.
